THE ORGANIZATION

The FFRP (Fluvanna Friends of Rural Preservation) is a grassroots organization founded in July 2004. It is made up of private citizens interested in preserving and protecting Fluvanna County's rural and natural areas. The FFRP makes presentations to the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors periodically and strives to keep Fluvanna's citizens informed regarding issues that pertain to land conservation and preservation. The FFRP is committed to preserving the natural areas of Fluvanna County. We need the help of all Fluvanna citizens in communicating to our elected officials the importance of these natural areas and the need for maintaining the quality of life we cherish.

We are dedicated to keeping the Rural Preservation Area protected. Once it is gone, there is no getting it back.

Recent News
  • The Planning Commission has announced a series of 5 community meetings and an open house on the subject of an A-1 zoning district. These will be similar to the ones held on the Comp Plan in which the FFRP was very active and well represented. And those who showed up and gave input clearly influenced the final Comp Plan. The meetings run from March 1-16. "Property rights" folks are sure to be vocal and visible at these meetings. Folks who care about rural preservation should be, too. Schedule Hope to see you at any or all of the scheduled public meetings. Check attached for times and locations. The first one is March 1 at the Columbia Elementary School.
